Norman G. Boaz founded Vocal Arts Unlimited in 1986.  He has been a choral director and voice teacher for over 29 years.  Mr. Boaz holds his B.A and M.A. degrees in music from San Diego State University.  Since 1969 he has been a professional singer, trumpet player and pianist, a music educator both in schools and in his private studio, a recipient of the Greater San Diego Industry-Education Council Award given to outstanding educators, has conducted numerous musical stage productions, and is a clinician, lecturer, and adjudicator in choral/vocal music and vocal jazz throughout Southern California.

Continuing in these capacities, Mr. Boaz is at home with both teaching and performing the broad range of musical styles from classical to jazz.  He has worked as an associate conductor and soloist with the San Diego Master Chorale, been a soloist with the San Diego Symphony Pops Season, conducted a North San Diego County “Messiah Sing-a-Long” for eight years, and has taught voice and choral classes for San Diego State University, University of California at San Diego extension, and Southwestern College.  He is a published composer and arranger, and has produced several recordings.

Mr. Boaz continues to own and operate his own voice studio and entertainment company, Vocal Arts Unlimited.  In March of 2000 he established the San Diego Vocal Arts Chorale, a high level auditioned community choral group dedicated to the performance of quality music in a diversity of styles.
