Norman G. Boaz
founded Vocal Arts Unlimited in 1986. He has been a choral
director and voice teacher for over 29 years. Mr. Boaz holds his B.A
and M.A. degrees in music from San Diego State University. Since 1969
he has been a professional singer, trumpet player and pianist, a music
educator both in schools and in his private studio, a recipient of the
Greater San Diego Industry-Education Council Award given to outstanding
educators, has conducted numerous musical stage productions, and is a
clinician, lecturer, and adjudicator in choral/vocal music and vocal
jazz throughout Southern California.
Continuing in these
capacities, Mr. Boaz is at home with both teaching and performing the
broad range of musical styles from classical to jazz. He has worked as
an associate conductor and soloist with the San Diego Master Chorale,
been a soloist with the San Diego Symphony Pops Season, conducted a
North San Diego County “Messiah Sing-a-Long” for eight years, and has
taught voice and choral classes for San Diego State University,
University of California at San Diego extension, and Southwestern
College. He is a published composer and arranger, and has produced
several recordings.
Mr. Boaz continues to
own and operate his own voice studio and entertainment company, Vocal
Arts Unlimited. In March of 2000 he established the San
Diego Vocal Arts Chorale, a high level auditioned community
choral group dedicated to the performance of quality music in a
diversity of styles. |
